Nepal Office Established for Shanghai Investigation, Design & Research Institute (SIDRI)
In order to provide timely and efficient services for the development planning of hydropower resources in Nepal, and the corresponding design and construction, through diligent and active preparation, our Nepal Office was established in June, 2012 in Katmandu, capital of Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal.
Nepal (Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal) is a landlocked country and lies in the mountainous area of South Asia, the south of the Himalayas with abundant hydropower potential to be developed. At present, Nepal is confronted with shortage of electricity and therefore takes the hydropower development as its important  national strategy. Once the local demand for electric power has been satisfied, the surplus can be exported to the countries around.
SIDRI’s Office in Nepal is a standing body to launch a long-lasting and extensive cooperation with the local consultants and engineering companies in the fields of water resources and hydropower. It is sincerely intended for the provision of overall and efficient services to Nepal Government and the project owners in terms of planning, consulting design, financing, EPC- and BOT-based contracting, etc. Our businesses cover hydropower station, power transmission and substation, new energy etc.
We are looking forward to sincerely cooperating with the consultants, investors, developers and construction contractors who have gotten involved in the development of Nepalese hydropower projects and new energies and the construction of power grid.
